Description
Cantillon Poulsard is a blend of 2-year-old lambic and Poulsard pomace aged 3 months in an amphora.
History / Other Notes
Poulsard is a light red grape from the Jura region in France. This grape has a very thin skin, making it susceptible to climate and insect attacks. It imparts to the wine a very light red color, with sometimes a light copper or "onion skin" hue (sometimes causing it to be mistaken for a Rosé type wine) with virtually no tannins translating into the glass. It displays flavors reminiscent of red currants, strawberry, and spices.
