3 Fonteinen Zenne y Frontera Single Barrel Brandy de Jerez Lambik

Almost fifteen years ago, the first Zenne y Frontera was conceived. The cellar master from Bodegas Tradición selected twelve casks on which we further matured old lambik. Since 2020, we select our casks directly with family owned bodegas, allowing us to select from a wide array of sizes and ages, sherry types, aromas and flavours. The Single Barrel series is the purest expression of the harmony between traditional 3 Fonteinen lambik and authentic sherry. For this Single Barrel Zenne y Frontera, we bottled a four-and-a-half-year old lambik that has aged for almost a full year on one freshly emptied more-than-eighty-year-old ‘Brandy de Jerez’ barrel from Josefa Pérez. This brandy is the spirit distilled from the still wine that is the basis of the sherry, and is used to fortify the dry white wines to obtain amontillado, oloroso,... A part of this spirit is often matured for over hundred years in some of the oldest parts of the family Bodegas. This sherry lambik was brewed more than 61 months prior to bottling.
