Fortunately for the lambic community, Jean’s daughter Sidy, and her husband John Matthijs took interest in continuing the family’s blending business. In 1998, Hanssens Artisanaal bvba, as we recognize it today, was set up--passing the Hanssens name onto the fourth generation. As a very small blendery, neither Sidy nor John make a living from blending lambic and they have regular day jobs. Today, Hanssens is a 100% traditional lambic blendery, producing only authentic, unsweetened, and unpasteurized lambics. As of now, there are no immediate successors to the Hanssens name. The blendery is still located in Dworp on the same family farm and in the same family farmhouse purchased many years earlier by Bartholomé.<ref name=LambicLand />  Hanssens is also a member of [[HORAL|HORAL]].

Hanssens has been investing heavily in the renovation of the blendery as of the 2020 COVID pandemic. Although an exact amount was never mentioned, John has been quoted as saying "it pretty much brought us back to square one". Among other changes, an airconditioning unit was installed in the barrel room to hinder the development of the acetic character in the final product that was long associated with Hanssens bottlings. In November 2024, Hanssens officially introduced the Gueuze Extra. [https://www.hln.be/beersel/geuzestekerij-hanssens-lanceert-gueuze-extra-terug-naar-de-originele-smaak-van-hanssens~a22bffcf/]] This particular blend intends to mimic the softer and less acidic character of the gueuze that used to come out of Hanssens before external factors such as climate change.
