The family owned business, founded by Bart Devillé and Ann Heremans in 2007, attracts locals of all ages and hosts many events throughout the year. [[De Lambikstoempers]] handed out first prize to Den Herberg for best local lambic café in 2018. Also in 2018, Den Herberg first debuted an 18 month-old Oude Lambiek. Later in 2020, they debuted Oude Geuze Devillé.
