Mourvèdre-Carignan is a unique grape lambic in Cantillon's portfolio. In 2018, there were not enough Carignan grapes harvested from Zélige-Caravent, so they instead sent 80 kg of Carignan and 220 kg Mourvèdre. During the maceration process the tank was only 2/3 full because there were not enough grapes to top the tank. By mistake, when some of the workers at Cantillon were asked to top a Rosé de Gambrinus tank they topped both the Gambrinus tank as well as the Mourvèdre-Carignan tank beside it. This resulted in a lower fruit concentration of 180 g/L instead of the standard 250-300 g/L for the grape lambics. | Mourvèdre-Carignan is a unique grape lambic in Cantillon's portfolio.
