There are many stories versions about what makese this beer unique, However, 3 Fonteinen has not published an official description of the beer. Stories includeThere are two primary schools of thought:* 1) The idea that this beer is just regular Oude Geuze, brewed normally. However it is unique because , Armand holds some selected the particular bottles back and ages them in his cellar for an extended period prior additional aging at the brewery. For this school of thought to releasing them ''(while be correct, this theory could make sense, none of means he pulled the vintage bottling entire batch. The batch dates for Oude Geuze Vintage do not align with regular the batch dates for Oude Geuze bottling dates)''.* 2) This beer is a small custom blend from . Armand featuring hand selected gueuze from barrels and made a blend specifically to be a release of the vintage.  Neither version has been confirmed. 3 Fonteinen's web site is vague. While it states that year as opposed to Armand selected the normal bottles, it does not clarify if he blended these batches specifically or if he just selected certain Oude Geuze release which is produced in large quantities blends and primarily focused on producing a consistant product from one batch to the next)called them vintage.
