History / Other Notes
The Oude Geuze Vandervelden series is a tribute to the founder of Oud Beersel, Henri Vandervelden, who started the brewery in 1882. The brewery was named Vandervelden until 1954, when his grandson, also named Henri Vandervelden, who took over the brewery in 1953, changes the name to Oud Beersel as a response to what he called to be the changed and the ‘new Brussels’.
