Description

Oud Beersel Bzart Oude Geuze is an oude geuze released by Oud Beersel in collaboration with Luc Dirkx in 2013 with a 2007 vintage date.[1] The beer is a re-bottling of award winning 2007 vintage of Oude Beersel Oude Geuze Vieille. Bottles were opened, re-bottled, and finished with champagne yeast and sugar to spark a refermentation in the bottle.[2][3] Bzart Oude Geuze was relesaed in both 750 mL and 1.5 L bottles and is labeled as 8% ABV.

History / Other Notes

Bzart Oude Geuze underwent the "Méthode Traditionnelle" (or "Méthode Chamepnoise" in Champagne terms) in which a riddling and disgorgement process takes place. This process, performed by Guy Geunis, gives the beer a sparkling wine type finish.
